Why Geocaching is My Favorite Adventure (And Why You Should Try It)

Martin Lostak / Upsplash

The world feels heavy right now… divided, disconnected, and distracted. But what if I told you there’s a way to reconnect, explore, and find hidden treasures? It’s called geocaching, and it’s my favorite way to explore the world.

What is Geocaching?

To put it simply, it’s a real-world treasure hunt. Essentially, you use your phone, you search for hidden containers called “geocaches” tucked away in ordinary and extraordinary spots. Each cache holds a logbook to sign and sometimes small trinkets to trade. But the real treasure? The journey.

I’ve found 266 caches so far, and each one has taken me somewhere new, including…

It’s playful, accessible, and a chance to reconnect with your inner child.

Here’s how to start Geocaching:

  1. Download the free Geocaching app.
  2. Grab a friend (or go solo!).
  3. Pack a pen and your sense of adventure.
  4. Explore!

Geocaching isn’t just a game, it’s a way to fall in love with the world again. So, what are you waiting for? Let’s go explore. 🌍✨
